This page is for converting to a FAA pilot licence to a Transport Canada pilot licence. If you don't have a FAA licence check this page out.

Short answer:

1. Obtain a medical. You must get the medical in hand before you are allowed to do the conversion exams. After seeing a doctor it takes 4-5 weeks to get the medical certificate in your hand.
2. Fill out the licence validation form. This process can take up to 90 days, but it usually done in less.
3. Prepare for the conversion exams by going to Pilottraining.ca $50 to $200 depending on the course to convert
4. Once you have a medical in hand and are ready for the exam, schedule the exam. Exam fees are $105 for each exam.

5. Complete application at a Transport Canada office. You will be issued a temporary licence, the actual licence can take another 90 days to obtain.
