Schedule for Remote Ground Schools

Includes 24 hours of instructor led ground school. The remote ground school is designed to be a supplement to the online ground school. Completing the online ground school and the remote ground school is required to obtain enough time for the Transport Canada requirements.

Ground School is taught by David Lewycky. He is an experienced helicopter and aeroplane pilot with many years of experience teaching ground school and preparing people for TC exams.

This ground school is to help you prepare for the Commercial Written Exam CPAER. focusing on areas that are the biggest challenges (based on CPL exam feedback) and to answer your questions.

Topics include:

  • Airspace: review on procedures and locating on the VNC
  • Commercial Air Law
  • Fronts and frontal weather
  • Reading weather: GFA, METAR, TAF, PIREP, Analysis charts, AIRMET SIGMET
  • Navigation: VNC, LO chart, review nav log calculations, dist in a descent, VOR and ADF positioning and intercepts, double track and opening closing angle methods
  • Turbine and diesel engines
  • Tips about what to watch for on TC exams--How to pick the most correct answer.
  • And whatever other topics requested by the class.

Includes access to the CPL online ground school for 90 days.
